Rose didn't like anything about Tasha Ozera but when she'd followed the bond to find Lissa in Christian's room - and Christian and his aunt practicing offensive magic, she had to admit that was pretty damn cool. In the dream, Adrian was back on the porch where he'd met Rose again, but it was summer. The air was balmy and warm, and the sun hung bright in the sky, coating everything in golden light. All around, the mountains and valleys were green and alive. Birds sang everywhere.

He was leaning against the railing, almost a little surprised that he found her of all people. This might have been evident with the double-take he did. "Oh. Didn't expect to see you here." He smiled. "You really are devastating when you're cleaned up."

Adrian Ivashkov was in her dream. Or rather Rose was dreaming about Adrian Ivashkov. She didn't quite know what to think about that.

"You're not smoking," she said.

It was something, at least.

Rose frowned at him. She wasn't scared. But she looked down at herself, noticing her clothing. She was wearing a cropped tee shirt and had the belly-button piercing she always wanted. Hanging from a dangly silver charm was the weird blue eye pendant that her mom had given her for Christmas, and once Rose noticed that, she realised she was also wearing Lissa's chotki wound around her wrist.

She looked up at Adrian again, watching the way the sun reflected off his hair and turned his eyes dark green. He was even better looking in the sunlight, but - "doesn't all this sunlight bother you?"

He was Moroi. It should be bugging him a little.
