Koschei entered the shuttle bay, clutching a small bag. Inside were Time Lord tools used for engineering. He wasn't a doctor or warrior, but he was very talented at mechanics and fixing things. There was little he couldn't do with machines, so he thought that would be his best chance of being helpful. The ship was dark and he wondered what the

Harry had brought a medical kit. If the ship had been attacked they might be in need of medical assistance. It didn't look like there was a great deal of life, but it might just be that they weren't in the shuttle bay. Except for the young man.

"Excuse me, are you in any need of assistance?"

ooc: Koschei and Harry haven't threads, so I thought it might be fun to play that they haven't met on the TARDIS.

"Actually, I'm trying to help you. I look young, I know, but I'm very good at engineering," Koschei explained, making a similar assumption. "How did your ship get damaged?"

Harry shook his head. "It's not my ship." He wasn't convinced someone that young could be that good, but it wasn't as if Harry knew anything about spaceships and presumably he'd sent out the distress call. "What happened here?"

"I don't know. I'm not...are you from the TARDIS?"

Koschei knew there were people from the TARDIS that he hadn't met yet. He hoped this man was one of them and not the party responsible for damaging this vessel, if anyone was.

He nodded. If he knew about the TARDIS then that must mean he'd come from it too. "And you are too," he guessed. Now he felt like an imbecile.

"Yes. I'm Koschei. Who are you?"

Koschei held out his hand, remembering the human tradition of clasping hands in greeting.

"Harry Sullivan." He shook Koschei's hand. "Between us we ought to be able to help anyone who needs it.

[teen_of_time]

"Well, I can help with the mechanical side of things. I'm not an expert in medicines. We don't even know what the biology of the ship's crew will be like."

"I've met a few aliens in my time, I'm sure I can manage the biological side of things."

But the first thing they had to do was to get out of the shuttle bay, since it was clear there was nothing in here. Harry found the door easily enough, since it wasn't far away, but it didn't have a handle and nor did it slide open when he approached. He presumed it meant there was a switch somewhere, he just wasn't sure where.

"Er, any idea how to open this door?"

[teen_of_time]

"Let's hope so," Koschei said, agreeably. He studied the door for a moment, then shrugged. "It opens based on a simple algorithm of heat and motion. It must be jammed. Give me just a moment."

Koschei took out a tool and opened a panel next to the door. He worked quickly, moving things and repairing wires. After a moment, the door opened with a tortured squawk that made Koschei wince.
