Martha saw the message and immediately texted back:

Sorry I wasn't around to help with them other than what was necessary. Let me know the best time to pick one up.

She trusts Ianto will understand her message without her spelling it out.

[Jack shows up at her door with a grin.]

[Martha takes a look through the peep hole before blindly opening the door. But there was Jack and there was his gorgeous smile. Martha opens her door wiht a smile of her own.]

It's good to see you Captain!

Not as good as it is to see you! [He wraps her in a big hug and spins her around.] Let's go inside. I'll show you how this works.

[She laughs at the sudden spin, though quiets herself quickly and looks around.] Yes let's.

Martha kept her hand clasped in his.

"I'm alive. Sleeping a bit better. I don't think I've been screaming much, but I can't be sure. I did have a bit of a nasty run-in at the mining town with some locals."

She shrugged. "I suppose normal stuff."

Martha looked down at the floor then. "I'm working on it Jack. Trying to get better. Some days are better than others."

She had his attention. "A nasty run-in? What kind of nasty run-in?" he asked.

"The kind where I'm a young black woman wearing the wrong clothes and sporting a nasty bruise in a 19th century town," she said lightly. Not that it was a joking matter. "I escaped unscathed."

"You should have called me if you wanted to go out. He could have been wandering around out there," Jack told her.

"He could just as easily be wandering around on this ship somewhere," Martha shot back. "Am I supposed to stay locked in my room if you're not around to take me somewhere?"

"Of course not," Jack said. He frowned and took the scanner out of his pocket. "Here. Just take this."
