Short Story

Ok, I meant to post soon after my last one, due to something that caught my attention.

You may have noticed that lately I've enjoyed doing something I like to refer to as "evil" in my posts. The most recent of which was in the last one, ending a very tame and informative post with, "Oh, and BTW, she's cute." If you really wanted to know any more about it, you really could just ask me, alright? If you know anything about me, you should know that there's no use in asking anyone else around me about me. Either they don't know, or know they shouldn't talk about it. I don't mind, and I don't care, if you wanna know something, ask me. If I don't mind you knowing then I'll tell you; if I do, you won't learn it from anyone else either.

Anyway, since people seem to be interested, I'll let you know who this girl is. But right off the bat, I'll let you know that she's just a friend and there's nothing between us, and no, I don't harbor romantic feelings for her. If that makes it less interesting I'm sorry.

Ok, her name is Chrissy Anderson. I'm not gonna give you some long story, I'll just let you know who she is. Basically she's a Freshman in the NROTC unit here at the UofM. She's a Mathematics major and is in my Japanese class. She's also a big anime / manga fan. So...pretty much someone I could get along with really well. She's a shortie and a cutie. I didn't think of her as anything other than a possible friend, 'til it seemed like she was interested in me. Don't ask, it just seemed like she was into me, and I wasn't the first to realize this. It was pointed out to me, and I had trouble arguing to the contrary. Anyway, I thought I'd give it a shot; I certainly wouldn't mind being with her, we seem to get along great.

Turned out we were mistaken, she has a boyfriend, yada yada. Of course I figure this out about 5 minutes before I was gonna ask her out, but that's not important. I was a little disappointed, but that's it. No, I don't like her or anything like that. I was gonna try 'cause I thought she was interested, and I could certainly get to like her. I don't really mind that that's out of the picture. Nothing really changed.

Lately though, she's been slowly becoming a closer friend. Since I met her we've never had trouble talking to each other, we always have something to talk about and I'm never at a loss for words. I hang out with her as much as I can. She's a good friend, and I've found her very insightful. Who knows, she might become one of my close friends, one of those I make time to write letters to. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'll write to her once I head back. And it's cool that she lives in Memphis, I can actually see her on breaks when I'm here. Actually, she asked if she could meet someone during the winter break. I'm glad to have made her as a friend.

So in conclusion, Chrissy is a good friend of mine, whom I do not harbor romantic feelings for. There's nothing wrong with me thinking she's cute though.

'Cause she is.
