If anyone has been watching the Weather Channel of late they would have seen at least some coverage on Hurricane Ivan, the most aggrivatingly unpredictable hurricane EVER. As my colleague, Victoria, has been saying, this is the first time I've seen weathermen universally hedge and waffle so much. They were SO certain it was gonna turn north, and it HASN'T . . . just keeps up with the West Northwest course.
So, there's a pool going to predict where it hits even while we all anxiously get ready for a hit here. I'm definitely not staying. I'm going home. Voluntary evacuations have already been advised for St. Bernard parish which - I have to give them credit - I think this is the EARLIEST advisory I've ever seen. I'm only a little upset that I don't have a friggin' blank VHS tape to record the evacuation program they're reairing on the news tonight while I'm in class. I need to get a map of evacuation routes. I don't wanna get trapped on the interstate for hours if I don't have to.
AND FUCK!!!!!! They decided to work on the damn bridge this month! Only one stinking lane will be open for the next two weeks! Which means I might have to go the Huey Long route >-< NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
My mother is stressing on whether to buy Chewy his own pet carrier. We usually borrow my aunt's (she has a doggy), but she might need it. My mother is also stressing about what to do with my grandparents not to mention me (I don't understand why she's stressing about me. I KNOW I'm going home). There's no friggin' way I'm staying in this bowl-shaped hole just WAITING to be made into a nice sized lake.
I just wish someone, somewhere could tell us where the hell this thing is gonna go. Nash would. They need to bring him back! The man was amazing. If he said a hurricane was gonna go somewhere, by God, that's where it went. And - do you know - I remember watching him when I was six and Juan was headed for us, he hasn't changed at all. I think he was around when my grandparents were teenagers. I want Nash back ;-; Who needs a computer track when you can have a living, breathing expert?
I'd better start packing now. Just in case.
