Doctors, Brothers, and Cruises OH MY

Nov 24, 2006 21:54

Went to the doc today. I've never talked so fast in my life. Mostly cuz I didn't want to keep him too long and because I had a lot to cover >-< He has ordered a gall bladder work up - meaning I'm going to have an ultrasound, and if that comes out clear, bloodwork to see how it's functioning. In the meantime, he's taking me off of Nexium and putting me on Prevacid and Lexapro.

As for my leg pain/tingles, circulation and nerve responsiveness are A-ok so we're going to assume for the moment that it's the anxiety causing the discomfort.

I'll know when the ultrasound's gonna happen on Monday.

Other than that the most exciting thing about my day was when Matt and I brought mom and dad to the airport (they're flying to Orlando to catch a cruise ship tomorrow). I was driving and as I was driving Matt and myself back home, my brother - the moron - felt it was his DUTY as the MAN in the vehicle to tell me I was going the wrong way. Never mind that I lived in New Orleans and that I've certainly driven there and back more than he has. Matthew was absolutely CERTAIN I had no idea where I was going.

Matt: middle lane . . .
Me: -_- . . .
Matt: middle lane, Middle Lane, MIDDLE LANE!!!!!!!!!!! *reaches for steering wheel*
Me: *smacks Matt* SHUT UP! We are NOT going to BOUTTE!
Matt: *finally READS sign* . . . Oh.

He did that ALL THE WAY BACK HOME. >-<

Me: *getting into left lane*
Matt: You should get into the left lane and go straight here.
Me: The right lane cuts off ahead.
Matt: I know, that's why I was telling you to --
Me: What lane are we in, Stupid?
Matt: . . . oh.

As for Thanksgiving -- it seemed like every member of my family had something to say about my health. Mostly it was concern. Ya know, my Aunt Faye had me write down directions to my apartment, "Just in case." and Paige (ya know who this is), told me to get myself to a doc and DEMAND invasive treatment. It seems that 90 % of my family members think it's all due to my gall bladder (I have six cousins, an aunt, and uncle who had their's out . . . and Tressa recently had to get hers removed as well). We'll see.

I thought it was kinda strange-funny that when I mentioned my family history of gall bladder problems, the doc said, "Well, usually when a person has gall bladder problems that feel pain in the mid-right portion of the back radiating up to the shoulder."

Me: O.O But -- all this time, when the heartburn was at its worst, I thought I had just pulled something.

Doc: *looks at me* You had that kind of pain?

Me: I have that kind of pain RIGHT NOW.

Hee, and - as you can see from the previous post - I also decorated the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving (Dad did the lights, I did most everything else ^____^ I'm making up for Christmas before last when I didn't TOUCH the tree). And emaniahilel called me, which is always FUN XD

P.S. Stranger Than Fiction - not a great movie, not a bad movie, rental material.
