Identity Theft - reprised

Aug 27, 2006 09:45

You guys might remember that during the second half of my last year at UNO, my brother was charged with a crime he did not commit at Grand Isle. Well, we now know who the culprit is that has his same description (blonde hair, blue eyes), knows our address, his birthday, and phone number.

*frosty voice* Scottie.

This is Matt's "friend" since high school, and he has DONE IT AGAIN, folks.

This morning my Nanny Cat called my Aunt Faye (who lives next door) and asked her if Matt had gotten arrested Friday night. Faye looked outside to see if Matt's vehicle was in the drive way and told Nanny that No, he wasn't. He's at work. So, Nanny told her to call him and make sure.

Faye called Matt at work and asked him if he was in trouble with the law. He said no, and Aunt Faye said, "This is important, Matt. Are you in trouble?" He said no again and that's when Aunt Faye found the listing in the police beat of the newspaper and came over to our house to tell my parents.

So, yeah, there it was. My brother's name with several charges listed against him (including DUI and possession of illegal drugs) with our address and his age and everything but with the addendum in parentheses (no picture identification - or something like that, forgive me if my memory has been snapped). The huge discussion about what should Matt do woke me up from a dead sleep and dreams about a certain Robin Hood fic idea.

Matt was obviously relieved from work and Nanny has been calling every now and then to let us know what legal steps to take (she's a legal secretary). Matt also got in touch with Scottie's Uncle Chad (who is a police officer) and he told Matt that when he saw the report, he went to the sheriff's office and cleared Matt's name - not in time for the newspaper printing though. So, I'm glad that Scottie's uncle noticed that without us having to contact him.

Mom, Dad, and Matt are on their way to the jail to 1. press charges against SCOTTIE and 2. get a state-wide criminal record printout. We don't know how long and how often Scottie's been doing this shit. Since this is NOT Scottie's first offense with the law, his uncle assured us he's not getting out anytime soon, especially now that he has another charge tagged onto all of his other ones, "gave false informaton".

If I see this dumbass on the street, I'm gonna kick him in the nads before throwing him in a garbage dump where he belongs. Especially since Matt is being a pussy about it all. He's like - I don't wanna press charges cuz then I'll have to go to court. >.> I think I have enough anger for the both of us.

WTF is with this family and dramatic weekends??????
