Early in the day, Dimitri received a bit more than his regular correspondence from St. Vladimir's Academy. He had been looking forward to hearing when he and Rose would be called back to the Academy to begin her field experience, but a quick scan of the letter was not living up to his hopes.
Guardian Belikov,
Thank you, as always, for your timely reports on your novice's training. Your request regarding her and your return to St Vladimir's was a little more unexpected. A consultation with the Captain of the guardians made clear that she also was not expecting this.
I understand that Fandom's school year ends with graduation in early May, however as St Vladimir's school year does not finish until August, we see no reason to disrupt the novice classes by adding an additional student for three months. Rose Hathaway's improvement and her actions in February have been noted, and assuming continued improvement, we expect her to take her trials with her class. It is determined best, however, that you and she stay at Fandom to continue your course of training. My understanding is that graduates of the school there are allowed to continue during the summer term, and that is the course I would recommend for the novice.
Your Captain suggests that plans be made for several visits to St Vladimir's during the summer months both to begin to acclimate Rose with her fellow novices and back to our society. Also additional training weekends like that with Alder last month may be arranged. We have no wish to allow Rose to take her trials without being fully prepared. In this vein, please be sure to forward all final transcripts to us in early May.
As always, my office or Captain Alberta's is open to you for any questions you may have.
