Even in the world of the Moroi, Sunday was a day of rest. The field experience also took the night off, both for the sake of the tired teens and their battered and bruised teachers.
This Sunday was different. Rather than leaving the novices in peace, Dimitri, Yuri, and Jean headed out in their fake-Strigoi black to wreak some havoc on the unsuspecting. Though groups of Strigoi were rare, the massacre last winter had proven that there were no rules when it came to Strigoi.
Moving in the darkness toward the commons, the trio spotted a mixed group of students, paused and chatting like there was nothing wrong in the world. Of course Rose and Lissa were with them, but Dimitri pushed that thought aside as he and Jean signaled the target of the assault to Yuri. Like lightning, they closed around the group, already attacking as they moved out of the shadows.
