So, at work again.
(For those in the know, almost all my journal posts will be made at work until I procure a net-worthy computer. Oscen is all better now, but the guy who fixed him decided that the wireless card was interfering with the ethernet card so he took it out, but rather than put it in a static-free sleeve or even a freaking' sandwich baggie he left it IN the CPU box where it rattles around to this day. I will have to open the box in order to get it back out, but I still have no idea how to install it much less an install disk.)
I like the job and the work is a lot easier than I'm used to. There's actually a lot that we're not allowed to do that seems like things we should be doing. I guess I worked traditional customer service for too long to really compute 'don't do that, its not your job'. I do two things: open trouble tickets and look up engineers. That's it. It's taken some adjustment, but Cisco seems to run ok that way. I mean, really easy work with great pay and a lot of perks. The dress-code chafes a bit. I mean, I'm wearing a pencil skirt and freaking hose. High HEELS. Jo is making me into a fashion zombie.
It's getting to the point where I hate leaving the house with filling out my eyebrows. Then again, I was maliciously shorted by mother nature in that department. I've got like half a brow on each side. If I'd been a Japanese woman in the Heian era that would have been ok, but ... y'know... I'm NOT.
Some of the girls here are really awesome. I'm glad that I can come to work and have a good time in addition to getting stuff done, although this center seems to have it's full share of drama-whores and attention seekers. There's this one kid that I seriously want to slap around for reasons I won't go into.
bitch,
yay,
work work work
