Reaction to 4.01

I liked it, I really did, I giggled I was worried, I was impressed!

But I do have a couple questions.

Why the fuck do we never see dean hit on asian girls? I mean If he has a type in regards to pornography he either has it as a total fetish or it's like you know what he likes.

And lets face it. Cassie is pretty much as far from asian as you can get. (I still miss Cassie, and feel bad that the charachter was so badly done, I blame the writers) And neither girl who Dean sees himself as being with is Asian. (Carmen/ben's mom)

It just strikes me as weird.

Also, The whole thing with the angel (Castille?) saying You don't feel worthy of being saved.

That throws up a LOT of red flags with me. I really worry that this will become more of a christian propagating show then it already is. (Christian paraphenalia is shown to be "real" and "works" more then any other we've seen.) I don't mind christians. I think its great that they belive what they belive. I just don't want my favorite show touting it.

I've been pushing for the introduction of "good" as opposed to "evil" which is all we have seen until now. Good is not religious. That is a core part of my belife system, that you can do good and be good without religious affiliation. The good side is only a counterbalance to the bad that the Winchesters face every day. But God as in the Christian God. Now that is a specific denomination and converting Dean to it, even if it turns out to be evil, as so many are predicting, seems wrong. It seems contrary to everything Dean is.

Dean in my mind is Good (capital G) He does things selflessly, and chooses to do those things for the betterment of others. He is a hunter not for revenge (even though he says it) but for the most part "saving people hunting things, the family buisness". THis is why Season 3 didn't work that well for me. Dean was no longer selfless and his motto was not longer about saving people but about simply taking down as many demons as possible.

Dean, raises his little brother and will give anything for him. Dean would give his life to Layla, and he would do anything for most strangers he meets. I'd assume that he tries not to hurt the women he sleeps with, and that he's been raised to treat women on a pedestal and probably feels enough guild over things he's done in his life to make him either Catholic or Jewish.

But if he was either one of these, and he had a higher power to belive in, or a goal to get into heaven. He would no longer be selfless Dean.

And Selfless Dean is one of his many personality parts. Just like pervy dean is, as is angry dean, and silent dean.

Selfless Dean just happens to be important, and would be destroyed if Dean had a goal besides helping people.
