(no subject)
Soooo I was just slightly freaking out because I thought I didn't even get an honorable mention for a photocontest, then after about 30 min. of being super depressed (yes super depressed, can you tell im not anymore) I found out there is a website to check and i found out I at least got three honorable mentions.
now i would usally be find with not winning anything, its how my lack of confidence in my photos goes... but #3 (you are what you eat) I feel was at least better than some winners, here is my rant
here are the winners..
okay, as for one and two. I know this because I have done it before (however never for a contest) but by simply hitting like 2 buttons on photoshop, a crappy photo, can suddenly be really good. am i wrong to feel that images shouldnt be photoshoped for a photography contest, its not a photoshop contest, cause then we would all know my beard i made at occ would win (not really but whatever). For one of my pictures that didnt get mentioned i felt bad because i went in and photoshoped a notresspassing sign out of the backround deep in the trees. I shouldn't have. If I knew that I could simply photoshop some shit up things would have looked a lot nicer.
heres the second rant to save the first from sounding hypocritical. yes i do have the gates photo that was clearly photoshoped. But I really wasn't expecting to ever get Honorable Mention on that one, i kinda just wanted the basic photo even tho it didnt look as good, because hey. I thought this was a photo contest.
And as for third place... I have nothing against it. It just doesn't say HEY IM GUNNA GO WIN A CONTEST. So my new theory is to just submit pictures of all my friend i have ever taken, ill have to win next time!
