What am I going to do with a house?

So my friend may have to move to Germany for six months or so. He just bought this house that I was only going to temporarily stay at but he would like me to stay until he gets back (really he would like me to stay forever). Of course he still wants me to pay rent too…and watch the pit bull that he adopted as soon as we moved into the house. Um…

If he wants you to watch his house and take care of the dog you should be paid accordingly - you should only pay utilities while you're there

It's hella fucked up that he expects you to pay rent while he is out of the country because that means if anything goes wrong your landlord is in fucking Germany and you'll have to handle any and all problems yourself. That's like the whole benefit of renting: when shit goes wrong you call the landlord
