OMG ITS FREEZING

This is the coldest day ever since I've been in London. Every limb is frozen. My thighs feel like ice cubes. My fingers are ice. The water bottle I had in my bag is as cold as if I'd taken it straight out of the fridge. It snowed three times! I haven’t seen it snow once since I've been here and now three times in a row! Barely -7!? Actually, it was just above freezing when I went out, but it felt colder. Honey, you have to remember that I was raised in the Caribbean, where people are complaining that it's cold at 21 (yes, I shake my head too). I've inured myself to the cold somewhat, but below freezing is unbearable for me. That's why I do not want to live in Chicago ever again. All the family I'm close to is there and it's cool and all, but hell no. Not doing that again. That situation you're describing is the stuff of my nightmares. I'd rather melt to death at 32. At these temperatures, I don't step out the door unless I'm starving and there's no food left in the house. Seriously, this Christmas in Puerto Rico everyone kept asking me how come I wasn't cold because I was wearing short sleeves.

Mm, interesting. What I've seen in the States and here is people wearing skimpy clothes because they're not cold. Not everyone, though. I have a Londoner friend who constantly has gloves and a scarf on, but other Londoners are walking around with a thin sweatshirt or worse, shorts. One of my friends (she's from Argentina) has an eight year old kid who's been here almost his whole life and she's amazed than on days when she's all bundled up, he doesn't even want to put the coat on because he isn't cold.

Thanks! Yay for me.
