It has been a Game of Thrones day

I spent half of today watching five episodes of Game of Thrones. Before that, I spent two hours writing to the Game of Thrones soundtrack. And now I have Jon/Tyrion porny thoughts. It's all c_quinn's fault. She infected me with the Jon/Tyrion goodness and now I can't get them out of my head ( Read more... )

grimm, game of thrones, oscars, fic stuff

c_quinn started it by writing a lovely fic for them, then I rewatched the show and realized that they do have chemistry. They're also two of my favorite characters, so that works nicely.

From the show, maybe. Did you read the books? Tyrion spends so much time thinking about whores, it's hard to picture him having sex with anyone other than that, haha.

Tyrion's also my favorite. Jon's cool, but Tyrion rocks beyond belief. <3

No, I'm afraid I haven't read them. I've noticed that I like fantasy in visual format way more than in literature (bizarre, I know). I also really don't want to be sucked into another series that consumes me for days, because there's no time for that (and I have no will power).

I also like show so much that I don't want the books to change my views on the characters, I guess. I hear that Danny is really different and I'm not sure if I'd like that.

I highly recommend them if you get a chance. I started reading them way before the series was even thought of, but even so, I was blown away at how well the series did it justice. Actually, Dany is very accurate. Not that different at all. Most of the characters are eerily spot on. The only one I'd say was a bit different was Cersei. I feel the show humanized her too much. She's much crazier and delusional in the books, but I suppose there is still time, lol. Tyrion is exactly right. If you read his point of views, you'll see exactly why he's so awesome. Arya, too.

Although from some of the interviews I've read so far, it looks like the third season is going to deviate a bit from the books. I'm curious to see how it pans out. The third one is quite complex.

Maybe at some point. They are just so many.

Dany is very accurate

That's good to hear.

They're already discussing the third season? I figured they change stuff around at some point. Even with ten episodes to work, it's hard to distill an epic fantasy book into a visual format.

The only major difference between book Dany and tv show Dany is her age. In the book, she's 13. It was an ick factor for a series and child actor (considering all the sex going on), so I understand why they made her older. It's not just her, either, it's also most of the children. (For example, Bran is supposed to be 9 and Rickon 3.)

And yeah, the writers briefly mentioned it near the end of season 1, since the show was doing so well. They said that season 2 would be very similar to the book, but season 3 would veer off a bit, since it's longer and more complicated. Season 3 will be a big deal because there is another significant event that happens in it.

Oh, that's young. Although it was normal, historically speaking, but this is one of those scenarios where I prefer it if the author weren't so historically accurate.

Now I want to see season 3 already and season 2 hasn't even come out yet.

Yeah, I think he started them young because it's his intention to fast forward some years in the later books (although it's book 5 and the story hasn't progressed more than a couple of years, I think). But it is kinda weird. Fortunately, they are so mature for their age, it's easy to forget they are so young. Except for Sansa. Can't stand her on the show and I passionately hate her guts in the books. (The show actually makes her more likable, actually!)

I can't wait to see season 5! lol I just finished Dance With Dragons and it's going to be awesome. Seriously. It rocks.
