To Post For The Hell Of It
Well, I have to be honest, I do *think* about posting often, but I am just not ever sure what to say these days. Life is pretty sweet. I took a group of HS students volunteering at a home for the mentally disabled yesterday. We had a blast & I met some incredible people, young & old. I am so happy that my boss asked me to go - these outtings where I can provide leadership & work with people really motivate & inspire me. Today he allowed me to take them all to lunch (freakin great Indian buffet) & then to a store to get Henna tattoos. The owner of the shop, Subash, is an incredible man. In the 70's he biked around the world for 8 years to promote world peace through cultural understanding. He met his wife along his journies:) He has dozens of newspaper clippings about his travels. Its so funny to think that these inspiring people are all around us, we just don't know thier stories!
Last night was St. Patrick's Day. It turned out alright. I had more to drink than I planned, but stayed in control & made it to work on time, hangover-free. I actually was even in bed by like 11:30pm! Crazy!
I am stressed out about the GMAT & my study habits are not great. I keep trying, but whenever I am not working, I'd rather be sleeping or watching a movie or getting coffee - NOT studying!
I am now the "Revenue Manager" at the hostel. Hell yeah. They are ordering me business cards this week. I am pretty damn thrilled. God really blessed me with this job & the people I work with. I hope I continue to be what they need.
My fam seems well. Lisi won an art scholarship to a summer fine arts camp. Cici might be on to the Junior Olympics for javalin this summer. The rest of the fam is equally amazing.
Dave got another job, which will help a ton. I am very very proud of him. Not for picking up some random job, but just for how hard working he is. He keeps me motivated:) Maybe his working in the theatre will even score him/us some free passes! hhhhmmmmm......;)
Oziel & Angel put a new ceiling up in my room this week. I am tickled pink;)
Sasha & I are working on turning the hostel into a green hostel. Hard work, but will pay off in the end!
And that is it for now. Yay for good times! Time to get some sunshine:)
