thinking of family

this is the key
to every door
keep it close to you
don't ever lose it

when i went to go see the shrink, so manny years ago, she told me maybe i might not want to write so much. she suggested that although many people are able to get honest with themselves thru writing that perhaps i am furthering from myself thru the fantisy world of the written word.

perhaps she has a valid point. we live in a post-modern society and we use symbols to express ourselves and even to identify outselves with. does my icon apear on your screen? that's me. do you see the girl jeans and the black frame glasses and the white studded belt offset to the side? that's me. i'm joshua of the wired.

anyhow...

whitney and i came down to vancouver. i drove.

last night, i visited the knight family. chris and i drank some beers and kept the whole house up until past 3am. this is what happens when josh guerci comes into town. chris and i need to keep in touch. he needs family he can count on.

my dad was annoyed that i wanted to go out last night but i am tired of his judgements. if he wants me to share my life with him, he has to accept certain aspects of my life. i love him as my father, but as a person he can be really fucking annoying.

don't get me started on my mother.

i find it strange that i insist on becoming family for so many other people who have none.

i practiced my singing voice a lot latley. i think it's getting better. part of the trick is to stick to keys that you are good at. of course, that means i have to try every key out and find which one works best for me.

i'm working on a new song and i kind of like it.

thanksgiving, family, chris knight, whitney
