Happy First Post of 2005

Well...this project should be interesting. Selph and I are looking up stuff, and it's turning out to be VERY nice (at least what I've got). I'm just gonna copy and paste what I've posted on various boards, and anyone is free to discuss them here:

How Does the Internet Affect You? )

I'll have to disagree with you about the atheism thing. I stopped following Catholicism, because, well, why would I subscribe to any religion that tells me I'm a hell-bound pervert? What kind of self-loathing faggot would that make me?;) Obviously, giving up organized religion doesn't make one an atheist. I am an atheist, but it's definitely not because of anything anyone has ever posted on the internet. Reading someone type "0Mg I d0nt beleiv 'n g0D" isn't gonna change my opinion.;) I'm an atheist because I don't see the logic in the existence of a god. Of course, I can't disprove God's existence, but by the same token I have no reason nor proof to believe it. But definitely not because it's a cool internet trend ( ... )

However, I see a great deal of LJ-ers tbat type NOTHING but negative/depressing/OMG-I-dont-have-a-boyfriend-Im-gonna-kill-myself posts, and it does often seem attention-whorish.

me = guilty as charged. but i don't do it to get attention, i just type how i feel.

me too on occasion. occasionally i get down on myself, and it is my LJ, so if people don't want to read the posts they should skip them. they are for me. my days events...sometimes what i feel on the inside. this is me, this is who i am. so...that's all i have to say.

Amanda-
Ha, I was thinking of other people who seemingly act upset for the hell of it...I actually find your posts to be quite genuine and insightful.

Admittedly, I threw in most of the athiest thing to rile up some people. What better way to attract people than a religious debate?

I don't know why it didn't work though...I posted this same exact topic 7 times on GameFAQs on 7 different boards, and between all 7 topics I got about 50 replies. 50 replies might sound like a lot, but considering I posted on VERY active boards and bumped them occasionally, I'd expected to get more replies. Especially since I threw in a comment about religion and a comment about Bush.
