So, the New Year is almost here, and it feels like a good time to set some goals. This is a big year for me - I turn 30 in June, and I want to get some things in order before then and then carry on for the rest of the year.
1. Lose at least 30 pounds. I lost 15 last year and gained it back. I'm tired of the yo-yo and I'm ready to be healthy.
- Timeframe: By June 8. At least by end of the year.
- Stretch goal: Lose 40 pounds
- Reward: New clothes!
2. Finish unpacking. I have lived in my house for about 9 months and my closets are still full of boxes. It's time to either put it away or get rid of it. Also, I have a few house projects that have been sitting around for way too long and need to be done (finish cabinets, touch up paint, change showerhead, fix rabbit cage).
- Timeframe: By March 17, my one year anniversary of living in my house.
- Reward: Finally have a party in my new place!
3. Pay off my credit card. I charged a lot to fix up my house and it needs to get paid off. I have a plan in place to get it done by the end of the year - all I have to do is stick to it.
- Timeframe: By December 31, 2009.
- Stretch goal: Pay it off by 10/1
- Reward: Start saving for a new TV
4. Get 1.5 hours or more of exercise each week. I have a gym membership, and it's time to use it!
- Timeframe: Ongoing
- Stretch goal: Run the Peachtree Road Race 10K on July 4th.
- Reward: Hmm...I guess same as goal 1 - new clothes!
There are a lot of other things I'd like to accomplish too, of course, but this seems like a good start. These goals tackle many of the things that are the hardest for me - weight, exercise, procrastination - but I know I can do it. I rejoined WeightWatchers today, and that is the first step on this road.
I'm also going to try to update this thing more often to keep myself accountable. Maybe once a month?
