vegetarian lunch (lotsa beans!)
1) edamame
2) green beans with black bean garlic sauce
3) hokkikai
4) pickled cucumber and daikon
5) soba noodles (sauce made from scratch with dashi, soy sauce, miren and bonito flakes)
my week of japanese cooking has been going pretty well... making miso soup and other sauces from scratch require many steps but they are easy and quick so it's okay. so far i made salmon rice ball wrap thingy, yakisoba, nabeyaki udon, and steamed egg custard (jap style).

i have westbeachbc's recipe for teriyaki chicken and pork cutlet but i need to either buy tonkatsu sauce or find a recipe to make the sauce.
