A Life Complete

There are few times I can remember being as happy and content as I am right now, just 12 hours after one of the best concerts I've seen in my lifetime. Sunday night at HP Pavillion Miss TIna Turner played to a full house and I was there with my friend James in row 12 loving every single moment.

I have had the joy of seeing her live 2 other times before this and was a little timid about going this time because, well, she's 68 years old now and been out of the scene 8 years. How foolish was I to doubt her. She hit ALL the notes and delivered just a stunning show. The staging was very dramatic and left me gasping. We Don't Need Another Hero, the end of Act 1, just left me speechless. (some of that was this giant man named Justice dressed all Thunderdomey next to Tina, JAW DROPPER of a man).

The second act started with a great slow sit down selection of songs, I Can't Stand the Rain being my favorite song of the night I think. The show got louder again and of course Proud Mary came and it seemed to be the end of the show. I mean, how could it not be? Well, it was NOT! THEN came Nutbush City Limits and was fun and reeling and got us all singing with her and then, THEN she got on this long mechanical arm and floated over the audience. The arm came just out to row 12 and she passed DIRECTLY over my head! I was just like 3 feet from this amazing spectacular unreal force of nature named Tina Turner. My iPhone didn't take the best pics, but it was awesome to at least have it there. My icon pic for this is a new iPhone pic from last nights encore.

I realize that I sound much like a school girl all giddy for my idol (or like Oprah the krazy). What I love is that at age 34 I can still have such an Idol. That she's got such skills at showmanship, that she can still sing so well, and that she's such a strong powerful rock n roll woman. I have idol-worshipped her since I was 11. How amazing to be able to keep on keepin on with that.
