Total Weight loss YTD: 27.6 lbs

I officially hit my weight loss goal on Tuesday morning! It took me longer than expected, but I did it. I had several ups and downs, but I learned alot through each of them. I finally realized that my eating was my Achilles heal for many years. Most of the time I was either eating too much, not eating the right food, or not eating frequently enough. All 3 led to the stock market fluctuations of my weight, not just this year but for many many years.

When I first loss the weight nearly 3 years ago, my motto was: "Run every single day and don't worry about what you eat or when you eat. The running will negate it all". Looking back, this was why it took me 9 months to reach my goal then.

This time it's been much different. Though it took 11 months, I really lost 25 of the 27.6 lbs during the last 3 months. I finally solved the equation for me. It's been a combination of cardio, strength training, and smart eating. Plus, my body has fully adapted to the change in eating, which was a huge step in the right direction for my weight loss progression.

I finally attacked the underlying problem with my weight loss and stuck to a steady routine. No diet plans, no magic pills, just steady progress. What is most important is that I've changed a lifestyle and this change can and should continue for many years to come. I don't intend to ever again balloon to my weight during the mid summer. I now enjoy eating right, and reading health and fitness articles fuels my desire to try and learn new things.

I've always been told weight loss was such a simple formula. It wasn't until a month ago that I truly believed it. Education and determination...that's it! You've got to want it, you've got to learn how to get there, and you've got to stick to it. I am the lightest I've been since middle school and as strong as I was at 200 . It's an amazing feeling and I hope my success will be the basis for success in other avenues of my life. If I can do it here, then why not elsewhere. YES I CAN!
