I looked mournfully at the endless pile of boxes spilled from one of the many pallets I had been tasked with moving. They were everywhere, except on the pallet where I needed them to be. I sighed, already suspecting she did this on purpose. No one puts all the tiny boxes on the bottom and the heavy ones on top unless they're an idiot or they're trying to piss me off. I pulled my radio from my waist.
"Charlie, this is Jake, pick up."
Static. 10 seconds.
"I know you're there, Charlie, pick up."
Static.
"What is it this time, Jake?" I could hear the fucking smirk in her voice.
"I just wanted to let you know, from the deepest, most rotted recesses of my soul that you are a complete asshole." I heard some laughing from the guys in the higher racks.
"Oh baby, I love it when you treat me so bad. What did I do this time?"
"Oh please, only you would stack these boxes like this, which either proves you're a retard or trying to get under my skin."
"I have no idea what you're talking about, honey. Are you sure you're feeling alright? Do you need me to take your temperature?" came the suggestive response. More laughing.
"Is that a come-on?"
"It's whatever you want it to be, sweets. Unless that's specifically what you had in mind." Even more laughing. I felt my eye twitch, this girl was worse than me.
Before I could even formulate a response, I heard another familiar voice on the radio. "Charlie, stop flirting with my man or I'm going to go over to the docks and break your fingers."
"I love you, too, Ash."
"Enough chatter, you three. Charlie, stop being a flirty bitch. Jake, stop whining like a bitch. Ashley, stop acting like a bitch and threatening your co-workers." Cue my supervisor.
I looked at the mess of my former pallet which refused to stack itself back together no matter how much I glared at it. Fuck this, I'm going on break.

So yeah. Working in a warehouse, especially at night is interesting. Amusing even.
This month seems to be "play old games" month. Ms. Pac-Man, Diablo II, StarCraft, Red Alert 2, and San Andreas. Also, I just passed 120 NES games. I'm not sure if this is a milestone of some kind, but why the hell not? I think fishing out over 100 quality games from the library is an accomplishment, so go to hell if you don't like it. I'm going to celebrate by... uh, well, playing them I guess.
Also, Valve. Stop teasing me goddamnit and just give me the Engineer update. Christ.
