Country music, crying music

*turning on the radio after Jackie dumps him*
Hyde: Huh, I finally get country music

The resounding no to "maybe I could change him":

Katherine Edwards - "In State
I can spot your kind a million miles away,
Buckle down boots and a bloodshot gaze.
You talk so sweet until the going gets tough,
The last job you pulled was never big enough.
.....
My face couldn't make you leave it behind.
Maybe 20 years in state will change your mind.

The about-to-ruin-friendship:

Carolyn Dawn Johnson Complicated
But think of what I'll be losing
If your answer wasn't yes

Then this one, don't be put off by the cliche or the fact that Kid Rock is singing it, his voice makes me want to cry in sympathy in this song:

Kid Rock ft Sheryl Crow - "Picture
Livin' my life in a slow hell
Different girl every night at the hotel
I aint seen the sun shine in three damn days
Been fuelin' up on cocaine and whisky
Wish I had a good girl to miss me
Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways

...and yes, I know it sounds like it's his own self-destructive fault, but maybe I could change him!

ETA: My current ship song for Mary Todd / Abraham Lincoln is Amy Winehouse - "You Know I'm No Good". I swear to god it started playing in my brain when I was reading Abraham Lincoln: A Life. When she threw the coffee, when she chased him with a knife, "By the time I'm out the door. You tear me down like Roger Moore". Srsly, gonna check and see if the Lincolns have been referenced in a country music song yet.
