I hate blues with the passions of a thousand burning suns - and passion is what blues does not have, all it have is mauldin moaning. Hell would be an eternality stuck lisenting to whiny whiny blues.
Maybe I wouldn't hate blues so much, if it hadn't hijacked jazz. Jazz, now remembered if remembered at all, as swing jazz, was supposed to be lively, something to dance to, something to live for, no matter how grim the wars get, something you can kick up a roaring session of Charleston to. Jazz is supposed to be social, two people dancing among a crowd of swinging partiers.
Blues hijacked the jazz label, now when people think about jazz, they think about morose drunks in a dingy bar dimly lit to soften the ugliness and utter unfuckabilty of its patrons.
So mad now, I accidentally brought home a whiny whiny blues album titled "A Swingin' Session", nothing about it is swinging, except maybe the no talented 'singer', shortly after he kicks away the chair he was standing on.
I hate this and all bait and switch bullshit. The bullshit artist must know this too, his album was described as " for everyone, be they blues lover or jazz fans", "joyful, timeless music", joyful? This feels like an audio date rape.
