To this day I wonder if my enjoyment of the Buffy/Faith ship counts as guilty pleasure due to the whole evil/dead lesbian stereotype. It really couldn't get more gay and evil than that scene in
Enemies (S3, Aired 1999 March), where Buffy was in chains, and with
a script like this: hey!'>Faith: Bondage looks good on you, B. The outfit's all wrong, but,
hey!
Buffy: You don't know what you're doing.
Faith: Really? Weird, because something about all this just feels so
right. Maybe it's one of those unhappy childhood things. See, when
I was a kid I used to beg my mom for a dog. Didn't matter what kind.
I just wanted, you know, something to love. (kisses Angel) A dog's
all I wanted. Well, that and toys. (lifts a blanket to reveal
torture instruments) But mom was so busy, you know, enjoying the
drinking and passing out parts of life, that I never really got what
I wanted, until now.
Buffy: Faith, listen to me very closely. Angel's a killer. When he's
done with me, he'll turn on you.
Angel: She's right. I probably will.
Faith: Yeah? Hunh. Guess we'll just have to keep you around for a
while then. Before we get started, I just want you to know, if
you're a screamer, feel free.
So I could totally blame it on weird teenage kicks back then, but god, I want to see a dark psychological AU where the Mayor and Faith won and Buffy is still around. Frankly I'm surprise that I haven't found any yet, even though I remember that there is a Wishverse story out there where Vamp!Willow has also found the Tara of her universe...um...dimension...um, timeline...though I didn't read it because I was already creeped out by the IRL creepiness on the part of Willow. Whereas I doubt Faith could ever really faze Buffy, if anything it was the other way around, like when Buffy taunted Faith with how she could be afraid of dying after all the killing on that rooftop. Buffy - Graduation Day, Part One - Buffy & Faith Fight (06:58)
...where I also heart the brief Mayor Wilkins part, so he was like, eating these giant demon spiders as a part of a dark ritual, but he was so civilized about it, cloth tucked into his shirt like he was dining on lobsters...and when the vampire barged in, the Mayor was like, gently admonishing; "We don't knock during dark rituals?", he is so cool. Makes me wonder again who taught Faith the five groups of torture, since, while Wilkins is evil, he is still very wholesome and seem more of a 'sideliner' like Lilah Morgan was.
