Or just, fresh wound since he didn't scream. ...and I do like Jack, but I had wanted the Russian consulate to be innocent after all to prove why you /don't/ fuck with foreign sovereignty like that. How's the nuke-searching going on in Iraq, Real World, right now?

- What would you have done, had you been the Russian who had been with Jack? Though the Russian government did not approve, is it still treason to intervene anyways, when United States had been the victorious enemy over the U.S.S.R., and whose military, and economical power, pose if not a threat, at least competition?
...this would be a good question for, how much x is worth how much y. Will you kill someone for money to pay for your child's private school tuition? Medical bills? Is it fair to takeover the local economies of foreign developing countries, if not killing, causing poverty, so that your own country, your own household, would have more? More security which is essential in our world, and more luxury?
With the way things were going in the world of 24, bias as our view would have to be since we see through the eyes of the CTU, I think the Russain-would-be-informat did the right thing. U.S. was an enemy, but settling an old score isn't worth this, and while U.S. is both a competitor and a potential threat due to their history of instability, there are other ways to deal with the first, and the second isn't enough of a threat to warrant nukes. I believe, that everyone should take care of themselves, but should they have the means to, they should take care of others too. This, slows at the borders, since it really gets complicated there, but I believe, that a country shouldn't cause great harm to another for what is to them, but a little good that could have been archived with other means anyways.
PS: I really like Tom Lennox, so I guess I'll keep watching because of him, even though there will no longer be scenes of him with Reed, *le sigh*.
