I've been listening to CBC Radio all day, this morning, they had music from U.S.S.R., as a part of their 'Censor This' theme for the week, and tonight, during the In Performance program, the series will be continued with a concert by a Iranian female singer of Persian classical music:

Thursday, February 22, 2007, 8:00 p.m.

Most of us don't think of censorship in connection with music. But as tonight's In Performance will demonstrate, in some places, even music is strictly controlled.
As part of CBC Radio's special series "Censor This!", In Performance presents a concert of Persian classical music performed by expatriate Iranian singer Parissa and the Dastan Ensemble. As a woman, Parissa was forbidden to perform in her homeland for many years, and a performance such as this one, with the all-male Dastan Ensemble, would have been unthinkable. Hear it tonight on In Performance, with host Andrew Craig, at 8:00 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC Radio Two.

Tune in!
