One of the coolest thing about the Buffy fandom was how resourceful it was, there is the
Buffy Fiction Archive and there is the
Buffy Guide. Plus, there was an
All Things Philosophical on BtVS and AtS too.
...and in my opinion, what made the BtVS fandom pr0nz the Trekkie one overall, is because there is the
The BtVS Writer's Guild, a series of sites devoted to a particular character or pairing, with stuff like fan essays and screepcaps and quotes, I remember there being like, a lot.
...of course, since the series not only ended a while back...and it hasn't been real good since season 4 when
Marti Noxon took over, a lot of things are kinda dead, such as, I totally remember there having been, a really, really, good Buffy/Faith writer's guild, with analysis on them as individual characters and their relationships and stuff.
...and I forgot the url, so I totally have to dig it up again before employing the
Way Back Machine.
...and dude, according to
Buffy Guide, there's going to be a comic form of season eight, by Joss Wheldon himself. I don't know how good it'll be though, usually he can be relied on to write one hell of a season finale, even when the season had otherwise sucked (See, Marti, yes I am scrapegoating her for cardboarding Willow's character...and I never thought I'll say this, but there was too much sex. Way too much sex, but a lack of intimacy since everyone got hollowed.).
The (2nd, 1st being end of the 5th season) series finale, the conclusion of season 7, "sucked beyond the telling of it". Maybe Joss Wheldon gave up? How much direction did he have after season 3 anyways? Whose idea was it to make post 5th the Dark Season? Whose idea was it to change the theme from "into every generation, a slayer is born", to a bunch of truly annoying Slayers-In-Training? It was just, annoying. The finale was not feminist, the message I got is, to be strong, women need super powers. Whereas the original theme was, it's not the power you start with, but what you do with it. Buffy is a hero not because she is super fast and super strong, she's a hero because she wanted to do good, against all odds, /she/, chose, and the kind of person she is...or at least was, inspires those around her to rise up as well. Buffy is also a powerful person, not because of her superpowers, it's because she, unlike the slayers before her who were mostly instruments of the Watcher's Council, she took charge, she does things on her terms, and though her friends help, she does do her research too, Giles was amused to find Buffy sleeping in the library after an all-nighter on their current Big Bad, he didn't even think she knew what an index card is, but she is smart, and she does work hard.
