I wonder what kind of person the friendly shooter is? My immediate impression was: High school kid practically tricked into the army, given a gun and kicked out of a plane after a weekend course? Yes, that is an extreme impression, but reality has been kooky anyways when "predictions" by Mad Magazine started proving true... Pure accidents do happen in war, which is why the friendly fire term exist, but considering the mess that has been coming out, somebody somewhere is probably grossly negligent.
Say, howy neighbour! How'bout pointing them barrels at a different direction? Say, the car bombers and the terrorists that are kidnapping civilians? If war is a video game the Americans would have lost already from all the points they shot away with the friendly fire and the bystander killings...
