The funny thing is, a lot of the Canadians I know on my friendlist are from Vancouver or live close to it, and it's just one, or two I've encountered online that makes me head-desk. Chirst, it's been ages since
the Canadabound political divide incident, in which while I shouldn't have continue to reply because internet flame wars lead to nothing, that was a time in which I am in the right. Then I let it go, but it appear that some people didn't, as fights are picked since then in other communities.
Such as the
infamous to me incident, in which I was accused of being a
racist by LC, and then suggested that I should go on a vacation because I was taking it too seriously, BITCH PLEASE. As someone who has been at the receiving end of racism, though fortunately, it was only the usual "asian women/girl" remarks, as oppose to the kinda shit a friend of mine has to put up from authority figures and members of his own race for hanging with me who is not black, it therefore, PISSES ME OFF when whiny little latte-liberals fucking pull the race card.
Now this:
I pointed out that a post was off topic and how that pisses me off (okay, not at all diplomatic, but I strongly dislike spammers), and LC came out of nowhere told me to get over myself. Seriously, I would be interested in reading about the US-Isreal-Iran thing, but not in
canpolitik when it's not about Canadian politics, I even suggested OP post it at a global politics comm or American comm, and LC wasn't even the OP.
From now on, unless LC does have an interesting point in post or comment, I think I'm just going to ignore her out of existence. *ignores* I will whine about it in my OhwhineJournal, but I won't get involved in any of the fights at
canpolitik, I want to go there for debates, not wank wars, I want to walk away from a disagreement there either knowing more about the opposing side's viewpoint or having educated the other or myself.
Also of the scary is, this started back when I was a teen, and LC was what, 35-ish back then? Yeah, age matters, the older you are, the less you can get away with. On the bright side, at least I don't have to say "I fear for the next generation", bwhahahahaha.
I'm 20-ish right now, so I'm just going to rant here, stay out of there. Meh.
Trying to be mature is no fun.
I want ice-cream.
ETA: Ah, here LJ, the FKM, the SISTER,
goes again. Another person pointed out that the Anti-War-On-Iran is off topic, and FKM "
with the exception of gsyh's special brand of obnoxiousness, the conversation happening in that post is more intelligent and interesting than the one happening here."
I could confront FKM there and ask her to link me to threads where I was being onoxious, but as seen in the
the Canadabound political divide incident, and other, that will lead to nowhere, LC and FKM just won't get it.
I wonder if all combined counts as a personal attack, for which
manitoblog was banned for, which I regret, as while I definitely disagree with him and he is troll-ish, he's the closest thing we had to a neo-con at
canpolitik, variety is good! A political community is pointless, to me, if the only thing the members do in it is pat each other on the back and agree with everything.
The way it's been with LJ and FKM however, not constructive, I'm going to ignore, and if that doesn't work, contact the mod. I prefer not to because I believe in free speech even if people are abusing their limitless stupidity quota, and there is only one Canadian Politics community, unlike the numerous American ones, so I'll feel bad if LC and FKM ends up losing out on the experience, the hate aside, blah.
Also, this "the conversation happening in that post is more intelligent and interesting than the one happening here", makes me laugh,
see for yourself, it's usually the over the top leftist wank that LC and FKM makes, so of course they are agreeing. I think most of the replies, all so far, to the American-Iran post, is "Canadian" Politics at its worse, which is, we have forgotten our own existence, in favour of an "Let's all rant on the Americans", bring the kids, kinda session.
There are a lot of things to rant on about America, but Canada have a lot to improve on as well, and as a Canadian, I want to focus on what affects me and what I can affect first, especially since this is a Canadian Politics community in the middle of an election season!
Also, not so funny scenario:
American Leftist Wank: Lifts Canada to impossible standards, whining about moving to Canada, while his/her own country falls apart around him/her, not doing anything constructive.
Canada Leftist Wank: Rants on the flaws of America and being blindly patriotic to Canada, while his/her own country falls apart around him/her, not doing anything constructive.
I can't do anything about Bush, maybe I can let my leaders know that we know that Bush is not a good man and his ideas are not good ideas, and we did and so we are not in Iraq. Mostly though, what my politicians do about Canada is more important than what my politicians do about America, because I AM CANADIAN. *chugs a Gin7*
ETA (hours later), Now watch the spammer PV defends the post about US and Iran, in which Canada wasn't even mentioned:
You know, I just didn't think I had to spell out why this issue was pertinant to members of this community. Canadian politics includes Canada's foreign policy - and because our foreign policy is so closely tied to that of the US and UK, this issue should be of real concern to Canadians. Canada's military/economic ties to US policy even briefly turned up as an election issue (should Canada have been more involved in the war on Iraq, etc.). If it's not of concern to you, you're welcome to move on to something else. SPECIAl! In PV's first sentence, he passive agressively insulted those who called PV on the spam, by implying that those who just can't see the emperor's clothes as being there as being too dense to. Than PV closes his comment by asking anyone who disagree with what he "considers" to be on topic, to leave.
PV is:
A. Not the Mod.
B. Not even someone who's been around long and/or participate often during Canadian Politics talk.
...C. Troll/Idiot
The last post PV made to
canpolitik was
Canadians: electing shit...?, barely coherent drive-by rant that is hardly constructive, and featuring a large picture, also not LJ-Cut, then again, not using the god damn LJ-Cut even when the post is 3 pages long is the vice of choice for
canpolitik, who can shout the loudest, who?
I think that was actually PV's first post, according to spendocrat:
You come into this community out of nowhere, ignore any kind of etiquite, then post juvenile scare-mongering as if it was reasonable discusson.
Please fuck off. I don't remember seeing spendocrat, but I think I like! Screw tolerating bullshit.
