About that ad at Robarts Foodcourt again

Nov 04, 2005 09:12

The more I think about it, the more I object, because dude, not only is this public space, it's public space the students pay for. This inaccurate ad has been annoying be for days now, so I wonder how I could go about filing a formal complain instead of whining over LJ. Things to do after the mid-terms, another line on the list I guess.

If you see the rabid attitude exhibit by some of the people over in this post at utoronto, you'll understand my concerns about the cult-like hive minds of some people, who didn't even read the entire post before mouthing off standard disagreements, yeah, my post is borderline irrelevant because of the second part which tangented from the first, which is why it was orignally meant for anti_vegan, but it is still relevant. Robarts Library is relevant to student life, a lot of people eat there, and it kind of sucks that a public building all of our tuition contributes towards, shove this kind of misleading propaganda in our faces while we eat. It's not as bad as graphic pictures of slaughter houses, in fact the plant pictures are kinda pretty, I like plant life, but the message, the lying message, just gets on my nerve.

ETA: Prime example of drone, I replied that she didn't read my post throughly, and stated my arguements again, in neat separate sentences bit by bit, automatically the hyperboles and distortions of my statements are sent back by her, "how did you even extend seeing this poster on the wall to forcing children to be malnutritioned". Stupid twit, I didn't say that the poster on the wall forces children to be malnutritioned, learn to read, dear university student. My post was made of two parts, the first part relates to U of T, about that poster, the second goes on to, moves on to, why it miffs me.

Also from that person in queston: "sure, we have omnivorous teeth and may have evolved to digest meat but there are a lot of other things we have evolved to have that aren't necessarily used, like an appendix." You, fail Biology! Why do we evolve? How do we evolve? We evolve to adapt to better survive, we do not evolve along "ethical lines" of "OMG eating meat is evil therefore my body shall evolve so that it cease to need it". Yes I realise that ranting about her here is tantamont to backstabbing, but Christ this post isn't friendlocked, she can read it if she come this way, and at the same time I won't be fanning the flames of a useless flame war where medium sure as hell won't be archieved. Also, when the hell was I "self-righteous", I'm pissed off, and to accuse me of ignorance, oh irony, when she's being willfully ignorant.

thelittlesthomo (hell she made a separate comm post why should I avoid naming names then), did a pathethic job of mocking me, playground outputs just aren't as fine as it use to be these days, always avoid general insults and recycling parody templates. Somebody needs to read up on PeeJee and Aubrey's tutorial on how to properly insult someone.

ETA2: stubbs just threatened "traced the person's IP and blew up her computer over the inter nets.", granted this amounts to "I shall kill you, with voodoo", but again, utoronto is an RL community, with psychopaths, so meeeeeh. Christ, the user "threatened" me over that? What a petty chihuahua.
