So, just in time, the weather cleared up, and I rode my motorcycle over to Konstance, Germany yesterday. My fiancée took her car (she doesn't "do" motorcycles), and we stayed overnight in the "Hotel Graf Zeppelin" in the city. We did a bit of shopping and basically enjoyed the city. Konstance is just a cool place ... at least we think so. It has some really trendy coffee shops (yes, coffee, not like in Amsterdam), and just about every store you could want to shop in.
Today, after having a coffee at ARAN, I took the ferry across to Meersburg and rode around the lake to Lindau (near the Austrian border). There, I met
friseurfrau, her husband and son. We walked around the old town (on the island) and just enjoyed the day! I did manage to get some serious (red) color in my face, but fortunately it wasn't painful on the ride home.
The ride home was ... bloody long. I rode from Lindau back along the northern shore of the lake ... and along most of the route (about 60 kms), traffic was just crawling along. After passing Überlingen, I got onto a stretch of Autobahn and was able to open up the throttle. I have to admit, as much as I love my GSX, at high speeds, the Triumph Sprint ST was a *much* better ride.
Anyhow, I've posted some pictures from Lindau, including the two pictures I took of
friseurfrau, on my Picasa page:
