Thanksgiving and all that stuff~

I have not updated in who knows how long, but I figured this past weekend merited a post!

Tuesday night I got home where the heat and internet is insufficient, yet I managed to do laundry and fall asleep all by myself.

Wednesday I somehow slept till 11 and then bonded with my mom as we cleaned up our house for New York. I got to see my sister late that night, and there was much rejoicing.

Thursday I woke up in time to see the stuffing being made and put into the turkey. More cleaning and bonding occurred, then New York arrived earlier than expected. We feasted and it was glorious, always great to be around family that is family by choice, not by blood (I love my blood family too!)

Friday I woke up early to say good-bye to 1/5 of New York, it was weird not having him there the whole time, it was quite the shame that he had to work. The day was filled with family and Erin's car breaking down, and seeing Bryon after the longest time we had been apart since August (pathetic, I know!) We had an amazing seafood feast, my tummy was pleased.

Saturday morning was an early one again, as Bryon had to depart to help his dad with manual labor. I napped all morning and felt generally funky, but after some time with just me and Scruffy (NY's dog) [everyone else had left] I recovered and was in a good mood by the time of everyone's return. Food (shishkabob) was prepared and amazing, but I found that family was much better that night. The adults were drinking and jolly, dancing to Simon and Garfunkel. The kids were laughing and embarrassed, but glad that they could be a part of such merriment. Then there was the beer pong.

Sunday I was up early to eat and say good-bye to New York, and then I had to say good-bye to Hereford. It was a great break. I feel so fulfilled by family (and food). I didn't want the weekend to end. It is rare that I enjoy myself more at home than at school. That ought to tell you how wonderful of a time I had.
