The young girl of 17 strolled out of her hidden-by-the woods-house and headed for nowhere. Nowhere was easy to find in this town...nowhere is everywhere.
The stars weren't very bright tonight. The light the stars failed in giving, the full moon more than made up for. The moon's once-a-month brilliance gave the night a surreal feeling. It was the perfect time for a walk in the country. The air was warm and comforting, like a soft blanket. The menacing insects could not have sung a more beautiful song had they tried.
The moon cast shadows over the trees. To someone not accustomed to the sight it could have seemed eerie; the rapists live in the country and hide in the bushes or so the periodicals read. The girl laughed silently at the thought and continued on her path.
As she headed further towards nowhere, there was a rustling in the bushes. The girl's mind traveled instantly to fear. She tried to rationalize that it was a nocturnal creature, but that was until the human shadow fell onto the path. Without another thought she began to run back towards her safety. Whoever was in the bushes was quicker than lightning; perhaps the girl should have employed the work-out plan that she'd been contemplating. The tall figure caught her around the waist and pulled her onto the summer-scented grass with a laugh.
She heard the friendly laugh and her fear melted off her as ice cream melts off the cardboard-stale-cone on those sunny-red-zone days. She smacked him for frightening her, but forgave him the instant she saw his loving eyes. They gazed at the moon and listened to the insect symphony - now it was the perfect night.
