Finally. Officially Hired.
Today I was officially hired by the Bibb County Board of Education. They held a meeting in the Bibb County Board of Education Board Room for all of the new TAPP teachers to meet the Superintendent (Sharon Patterson) and to sign contracts. One of the more interesting clauses in the contract was that the contract can be terminated by either signing party for any reason during the year of the initial contract. (Teacher contracts are renewed annually, for those of you unfamiliar with teacher contracts.) With that said, generally the only reason the Board terminates a first year contract is if the teacher is a felon or fails to reveal prior criminal activity.
I have to admit, it's nice to be employed again instead of just being an independent consultant/contractor.
