re-envisionings and re-workings

So, I have recently learned that ABC has given the go on a new V pilot. Yea, that is right, V. I of course am worry some but some what optimistic. Here is to hoping for a good future for what is among our favorite sci-fi series....

I actually have an electronic copy of V: The Second Generation book that recently came out. I wonder if ther series is based on that.

from what I understand it is being chased after by three groups trying to make it happen. V the second generation is the original creator's vision 20 year after the original books(note not the TV series which was screwed.) one of the other two groups is doing this pilot which is supposed to be a re-envisioning of the original series..... doesn't all this sound familiar? Oh wait.... that is what happened with other loved series... it is new and different enough not to be the same thing...

While at Carrie's i realized it was written by ann crispin - no worries

she wrote some of the early books but it was originally Kenneth Johnson, as is the next gen book... but neither is doing the new pilot.
