Yep, it's Man Island day. (Ogijima) This is going to be a slightly dull update.
I'm back for one day and one lesson before the end of the school year. There's some stuff going on after school, and I won't be able to make it on the 5:00 ferry back to Takamatsu, so I'm staying at the teachers' lodging house tonight and taking the first ferry back tomorrow morning. That doesn't actually give me enough time to go home, though, so I brought my suit to school today. I'm wearing my suit because tomorrow is the closing ceremony!
Spring breeaaaak.
I keep saying that we should tell ghost stories in the teachers' lodging. It doesn't get much of a laugh, so I'm just going to keep saying it until it does. And I'll keep posting that picture of a bear with apples until you like it. WERE YOU AWARE THAT: the japanese word for 'ghost story' is a homophone with the word for 'stairs'? I DOUBT THAT YOU WERE AWARE OF IT.
And what else exciting have I been doing? Oh, man. I've been cleaning. Sweet, right? I threw away the sheet that Sandra cut up to make her (awesome) costume this year. And that means that... I haven't cleaned since... October. Ha ha heh. Ehhh. Well, anyway, I'm cleaning now, and making great progress! Because people will be staying over at my place Friday night (that's tomorrow!), and I want them to still like me. They're staying at my place because we have to catch a 5:00 AM bus on Saturday, and there's no reasonable way to make it in to town that early.
And we're catching a 5AM bus because we're going to Thailand. Woo! I don't really know a lot about the country, but we'll be spending a couple days in/around Bangkok before heading a little further south to Krabi. We'll spend a week there, basically, not including travel time. So I'll get back to Takamatsu on Tuesday, probably. I still have to pack, but I think I'm mostly done with laundry and stuff like that, so it shouldn't be too hard. Right? Ha. I'm sure I'll spend as much time as I have.
My class is in about 15 minutes, so I'll leave it at that for now. Next up? News on which of my teachers are moving and staying! They say we'll hear after lunch. So that's exciting. I'm hoping that Yura-sensei stays at Shiun, and Sakai-sensei stays at Shimokasai. Those are the two that I'm simultaneously most attached to, and most worried about them being transferred.
