weekend/vacation in a quick little nutshell

Weekend in NYC! Craziness! Heat! More catcalls than I knew how to deal with! It seemed like every day we were there, we had to pull up our britches, tighten our belts and dive headlong into the craziness and chaos of a city that never sleeps and strips you bare and looks right through you. I have decided that I could probably never ever live there (finances aside) because I would become too jaded to be any good. I like my Boston just fine for now. I definitely love to visit and dip my feet into the madness of the place, and soak up its fashion and grace, but no more than that.

I woke up this morning still exhausted and sluggishly resisting going to work. I like my vacations, dammit. I hate it when they end.

- I'm having trouble dressing myself, i.e. finding things that actually go together. I peg exhaustion and backlash from having to be fashionable for more than 2 days in a row

- People need to learn how to ride the T, i.e. don't even try to move past me while I'm saying "excuse me!" and rolling a huge suitcase. I will nail your punkass because I need to get off the motherfucking train. Don't be a douche.

- Iceypops are a godsend. So is my air conditioner. I slept without sticking to Kaitlin.

- Foots Foots missed me, apparently.* He seemed all cool and non-chalant when we came home, but he eventually caved and slept as close as he possibly could to both of use. And he was out cold. Possibly snoring.

- Our NY hostess' cat, Molly, is my newbestfriend. She is polydactylic, just like Foots, but his complete opposite as far as personality: quiet, skittish and a bit jumpy. Though, her snuggliness is comparable to his.

- Wrestlers...all month. Stinky.

- We found and apartment! Yays! After weeks of frustrations and foiled hunts, we found a beautiful place for ridiculously cheap. I mean, ABSURDLY cheap. We're in Somerville starting in August. Drop me a note or call and come on by :D

- Now begins the process of finding stuff to put in said apartment cheaply and/or for free. More research and hunting here. Woo. Still waiting for the keys to actually get in the place. the guy said he has to find them or just change the locks. Hopefully we'll get those by tomorrow or Friday.

Aaaand that's all I can think of right now. Time to go get Kait's car, get some food for my woefully-empty fridge and clean up my damn room to get it red up for the move.

* According to our kitty-sitter. He was talking about it all day yesterday. She had to give him some canned chicken to soothe his tufts.

travels, kait, kitties, life
