...says the woman who's currently heating her house with a gas fireplace. Grr. I have radiators -- but the boiler furnace isn't working and the repairman will be here Tuesday. I have central heat, which I loathe since it kicks up both sets of asthma in the house (my husband and my cat both have asthma; I don't). The furnace for the central air apparently wasn't re-lit after the local utility turned off my gas a month ago to replace the pipes. They did re-light the water heater, but still....
Dragon'll be home tomorrow, and he knows how to re-light it, but neither of us wanted to try and give me directions over the phone on re-lighting the pilot light and/or how to tell if I need to get the repairman to check it, too....
So. The gas fireplace in the living room is going, 'cause the house was freezing. The down comforter is on the bed, which is, thank Gods, in the room across from the fireplace. The cats are alternately frisking in the cold to warm up, I'd guess, or snoozing on blankets. And I'm drinking hot tea and cooking to warm up the kitchen.
Oh, well. I got the fireplace going. Good thing, too. Making a cake, to justify using the oven to warm up the house, would have played merry hob with my diet.
