I would just like to say that the point of this story was to not write the novel I've been putting off for years now.  It sure as hell wasn't meant to end up in my usual 3 story progression of 'short Lyric Wheel piece' followed by 'longer sequel to LW piece' to 'oh hell, now I need a novel to tie this all off....'
