No, no, not the part where
Black Widow's getting a movie and an origins movie at that. I squeed about that yesterday with everyone else.
No. Sometime between last summer when I last checked and about ten minutes ago when I checked again because why not, Barry Hughart has put the Master Li books out in ebook format. The omnibus is 9.99
at Barnes & Noble, or
Amazon,or probably half a dozen other sites*, and that is one king hell of a bargain considering the hardcopy version of the omnibus was running $150 used if you could find anyone who'd sell it!
So anyway, apologies to the dolphins and bats for that noise. Everyone else, I can't recommend these books highly enough. If I could only take one book to a desert island, the omnibus would be it. It's the source of that glorious quote about, "In the first place I don't understand where [the story] begins and in the second place I'm not sure it has an ending and in the third place even if I understood the ending it wouldn't do me any good because I don't understand the beginning in the first place." And it's got Ox, and Master Li, and Moon Boy, and Grief of Dawn, and Jade Pearl, and drunken tongue twisters and... um. Right. Sorry. I'll stop now. I can stop anytime, really. (Yeah. Sure.)
Right. Off to bed. I know what I'm reading.
* I couldn't find anywhere Hughart was selling the ebook direct, possibly because I'm not on Facebook. But I think B&N listed it as published by Subterranean Press, so it's more likely he's not selling it direct.
PS --
draconis? Oh, yeah. It's in archived items. You knew that, right?
