Brendan Behan quotes & glorious music on YouTube

Feb 10, 2012 17:27

Too many of these made me grin, so I'm posting them here.  From yesterday's Quotes of the Day:

Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves.

The most important things to do in the world are to get something to eat, something to drink, and somebody to love you.

Other people's interruptions of your work are relatively insignificant compared with the countless times you interrupt yourself.

A man is already halfway in love with any woman who listens to him.

I am a drinker with a writing problem.

Ah, bless you, Sister, may all your sons be bishops.

All publicity is good, except an obituary notice.

Theoretically it's Friday and I should be posting links to Friday Fic but I'm running away first thing tomorrow on a short trip with Dragon, so I wouldn't bet on it this week either.  (Even if I do need to close a tone of links again.)

Oh, and linking it here so I don't forget about it:  The Piano Guys are *amazing*.  Watch Secrets, both the instrumental and vocals version, and Carol of the Bells, and the Cello Solo (plus 7 cellos), and the Light Saber Bows duel (Darth Vader with an accordion?), and Coldplay Paradise (Peponi) and... well, honestly I got lost in their stuff for an hour.  The Linus and Lucy jazz at the retirement community is also markedly awesome and the Pirates of the Carribean, but er, I give up, just go enjoy?  I'm running away on vacation!  (With a hat tip to
samjohnsson  for pointing them out to me!)
