Things for which I am grateful:
1. Dragon
2. Family of choice. (This includes the sane members of our birth/adopted families. I wish there were more of them....)
3. Friends. (Yup, 2 & 3 overlap a lot)
4. Not needing to hide bodies.
5. That this is over for another year.
6. That no, the wine did *not* damage my computer! (Nope, not my fault, but it does deserve mention!)
7. That we already have plans for how to make this work better next year.
8. Did I mention being glad I didn't kill anyone and thus have a body to hide?
On the other hand? I coped much, much better than I would have even a few years ago. My holiday stress was in fact due to, you know, stress applied on the holidays, as opposed to free-floating 'Oh, crap, the holidays are here, panic!' Now that it's over, I'm just going, "Right, there has to be a better way to do this next year." So. Not bad at all.
All that said, I hope that all of you celebrating it did, in fact, have a good holiday. And I leave you with "Alice's Restaurant,"
the illustrated version and
the annotated lyrics. (I had not realized that the song was, in fact, true.)
