A.k.a., stories I've enjoyed since last time I did this, a.k.a. 'Oh thank gods, let's close some tabs!' Roughly grouped, even.
There's a challenge running at Twisting the Hellmouth (Buffy crossovers) for a fic a day for August. This will explain the number of Buffy crossovers showing up in this....
Buffy/Batman: the animated series:
Gotham's Newest Siren, by
patriciatepes . The problem with going out to retrieve a cursed crystal in Gotham is, well, Gotham inhabitants. Really. Go, read, giggle.
Buffy/Forever Knight:
Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves, by
patriciatepes.
devohoneybee ,
merfilly ? I think you two will like this one. Another take on LaCroix and Janette, with added vengeance demon. Plus, you know, earworming with a good Eurhythmics song.
Buffy/Leverage:
Long Distance Video Call by
indraleigh Dawn, doing some long distance consulting, with help from Hardison and Eliot. Ignore the extra word here and there and just enjoy the fun in this one. (I love fics where I can tell the writer's having fun and taking me with her.)
Buffy/SG-1:
The Grail Prophecy series by
Jedibuttercup 3 stories so far, 2 more to go, probably in September. So, WIP. This is SG-1 S. 10 starting from Daniel (canonically) finding an English private library with Morgan and Merlin data -- that happens to be Watcher Council's public library. And it's running from there, with prophecy and dating. I'm enjoying this a lot.
Buffy/SG-1:
Convincing by
koohii_cafe The mother of a new Slayer needs a little convincing concerning the existence of vampires. (Really. I'd spoil your fun if I said much more, but Andrew's babble is actually useful in this one.)
Buffy/Sherlock:
Bad Advice by
jerseyfabulous Sherlock and Dawn Summers arguing/quibbling with periodic commentary by John Watson, who, as he reminds Dawn, is an M.D. Just fun, and a great John voice. Enjoy!
Also, this month's theme at
fancake is Hurt/Comfort which explains how I ended up rereading
due South:
Kowalski Is Bleeding by
Speranza An alternate ending to the series, a great Vecchio POV, and gloriously snarky Fraser. Not up at AO3 yet; that link goes to her website.)
due South:
Academic Punk, by
thehoyden is one of my all time favorite dS fics, herein recommended to those few of y'all who haven't read it. Summary: "What is this, an Austen novel?"
And random fun:
Leverage/Highlander:
Five Times Parker Didn't Do It by
jinxed_wood Pretty much what it says, and just entertaining.
Leverage/White Collar vid,
Get The Party Started by
rhoboat Seriously, this could have been made for me. Two of my favorite shows, one of my favorite singers, and it's a great vid. Go, watch, enjoy! And leave feedback, or kudos. Man, I love that on AO3.
Miami Vice vid,
Caramelo by
Franzeska For once, the Miami Vice ladies get their time to shine.
raine , chica? I think you want to watch this!
Nero Wolfe screencaps. Five pages of pics so far, capped from the A&E series. More added occasionally. I'm just enjoying the reminders.
Sherlock/everything (damn near): Yes, really.
Four at the Thousand Faces, by
morgan_stuart A respite for Sherlock, John, Lestrade, and Mycroft, and a 'find the crossover' hunt for the rest of us. Footnoted at the end for those completists among us -- enjoy! (I have to go reread and leave proper feedback myself.)
Last, the more serious bit. Ignore this if you don't live in the USA, okay?
Some morons in the House of Reps want to pass a bill, H.R. 1981 (really, it should be 1984) that would require ISPs to keep track of all IPs assigned for at least 12 months after they were assigned. 1) this would play hell with anonymity and even pseudonymity, and 2) thanks to outdated privacy laws, it wouldn't require a warrant to get this data. And 3)? This would be the police and FBI's dream bill... and a wet dream bill for divorce lawyers and hackers. The ACLU has data on it
here, the EFF
here, and both have links to let you protest to your your Congressional representatives. (Chilling effect and havoc on small businesses? Yeah. Don't start me on the politics of this.)
