The Navy Says 'I Do' to Same-Sex Marriages. "Assuming [Don't Ask, Don't Tell] is lifted - it is slated to happen around the end of the year - the Navy believes it cannot legally bar same-sex weddings or civil unions from taking place in its facilities." (It is, of course, more complicated than that, but that'll do for a synopsis.) The opinion comes from the Navy's Chief of Chaplains, who did talk to senior officers before releasing the statement. Some members of Congress, of course, disagree, but... huh, fascinating.
