Yup, I know, I haven't posted in forever.
I survived the holidays and got ridiculous amounts of really good loot. No, really -- Santa thought I'd been exceptionally good this year, or my relatives decided they hadn't properly appreciated me or something. Great presents that I'm going to be a while reading (the annotated Dracula! YES! ::pumps fist::) and learning how to use (an iPod that isn't trying to quit working on me -- yay! Now, if I can figure out how to put vids on it...). And Dragon and I sensibly finished the holidays over with
alysswolf and Merewyn, eating the world's easiest lamb dinner and drinking wine and watching The Thin Man and the pilot of MacGyver. We've decided dinner, presents, and movies is now the new 'Christmas is offically over, thank God!' tradition after this year and last. (Yes, if people like, I'll post the recipe later, and the easy party dip.)
Dragon and I went on vacation together for my 40th, which was a lovely birthday, honestly. Thank you all for the kind wishes, and
Pat_T, the bottle of bubbly on my profile was a lovely surprise -- thank you! I walked my feet off, walked three pounds off, and had a great time. And I did all of this, including the holidays, on bromelain instead of Aleve and with almost no inflammatory flare-up on the holidays. Absolutely *the* healthiest holiday season I've had in the ten years since we started figuring out something was wrong. ::knocks wood, keeps up what seems to be working::
Of course, I promptly came home with a cold, which explains the further week between birthday and here. Oh, well. Odd as it sounds, this is an improvement. My immune system didn't overreact. How odd to be pleased about a long, mild cold. But I'm home, I have fic started/in progress, and I went back to my workouts this morning. Burn Notice resumes in a couple weeks, I have two seasons of MacGyver to watch with
Alysswolf, and Eureka should be starting up sometime soon, shoudln't it? Oh, and I need to go do a couple webpages for
jimpage363... Yeah, definitely back to regularly scheduled programming.
Oh, and gacked from somewhere on my friends-list, a meme: (It does look like they got me right.)
Your Word is "Think"
You see life as an amazing mix of possibilities, ideas, and fascinations.
And sometimes you feel like you don't have enough time to take it all in.
You love learning. Whether you're in school or not, you're probably immersed in several subjects right now.
When you're not learning, you're busy reflecting. You think a lot about the people you know and the things you've experienced.
What's Your Word? Short version: I'm down six pounds from Thanksgiving (yay!), the holidays went remarkably well, and I had a great birthday.
tarshaan, the sweater is perfect. Hope everyone else is doing well, and I wish you all a happy and healthy new year!
