Writing update, since something needs to kick my ass into gear...

Jun 20, 2007 17:32

11,509 words so far. At a minimum, six more scenes to go, probably more like ten. Damn. At least 25,000 words, then, possibly 35,000, and then I can do the sequel. ::eyes my muses in disgust:: If I could get my hands on you guys....

stories: southern comfort, writing: updates

Yes, and I'm going to shoot the wordy, complicated, pain in the ass bastards! (Okay. Joe's probably not illegitimate, but the rest of them are!!)

At least you can get your pens on them... *ducks*

Er, well, no. It's more like they can get through my pens. ::shrugs:: I never win arguments with them about how the story goes, and I've learned not to try. Blasted nuisances are usually *right*.

Heh. Nasty habit, being right... =) Looking forward to the results.

The prime example is getting (I thought) halfway through Sirocco... and Farrell refused to fight for Owain. And then I had to go back, expand the first half, and completely reevaluate who was fighting who and reblock all the sword fights. GAH. (Sonuvabitch was *right*, too.)

So are they being more annoying than Lucius and Marcus? Or just annoying in another way?

They've been more annoying for longer. Trust me. This is actually *worse* than leaving Duncan naked on the couch for a year while I figured out why the scene wasn't working. :;whimpers:: Six scenes. Maybe ten. ::goes back to writing::

oh good! the more you write, the more I have to read. I'm looking forward to your thousands and thousands of words coming soon. (You'll notice that I'm not nudging, pushing, or even hinting that you should hurry up!!)

Well, Matthew, being Southern, does have a way of running on a bit, even when he's not talking. And Duncan...well, let's not even go there. But when you write alphas, you have to expect them to be a little, hmmm, pushy.

You could always take up herding cats...

Sure! *beams* Good thing they're both Immortal. Just don't hurt Joe. Threaten to hide his Gibson, yes; bodily harm, no. And be nice to that Skinner fellow, if he's still around. I have a crush on him (just a little one). ;)

::eyes it:: I don't think Skinner's in it. Not yet, anyway. Probably not. No, I wouldn't hit Joe! (The rest of them should duck, but Joe's safe!) ::hugs you, runs off to write some more of this, blast them!::
