Good, better, and oh thank gods.

Of the good -- despite spending far too little of the last month in the gym (amazing how long it takes to get over vacations ;->), I don't seem to have gained any weight. May even have lost a pound. Of the better -- despite the time away from the gym, I'm doing a slightly faster pace on the elliptical and upped my time on the rowing machine with ( Read more... )

Joe takes a nostaligic trip "back home" to Chicago and runs across Harry Dresden. Either at the level of Joe and Harry... just 2 guys, or if you want to get more plotty, there could be layers of Watchers/High Council. Or Joe and Harry each subtly dancing around having to deal with the higher ups who Just. Don't. Get It. about being the man on the ground. *s*

Chica, *all of this* is your fault. I had to go look at how few Joe stories I have.... (But no, I think I've got it. About to go put on music...)

::amused:: It is, clearly, working, since I have one written, one trying to write itself in my head in the shower!, and give to go beyond that.

(Hey, quick question -- in "See That My Grave...", the blade with the inscription on it -- whose blade *is* it?)

It's not a blade, I'm afraid -- it's the barrel of a Colt revolver made in 1835 ("when Haley's Comet was overhead -- the same night those men died at the Alamo"). It was made by Colt for a vampire or demon hunter, and they say it can supposedly "kill anything." Even supernatural things. :-)

I swear to God, I think the Latin on it roughly translates to "I will not let evils pass." That's a Colt revolver, huh? ::gleeful:: Thanks!

The transcript for the episode where John talks about the Colt is right over here:

http://supernatural.oscillating.net/scripts/transcripts/supernatural-120-deadmansblood.rtf

It starts just past the halfway point of the script, with his line, "It’s just a story...a legend, really..."

::eyes you:: Don't suppose you'd let John shoot Methos with it? Just to watch him get back up? ::bats eyelashes, runs::

I think the rules of the universe indicate that this would kill an immortal, as well; it kills other things that otherwise can only be killed by beheading.

::blinks, stares:: Okay. I have to go read that transcript now and see where it was before it showed up. I'm personally thinking box in an undesignated US gov't vault (ala the Ark) or locked away by the Watchers... or in Rebecca's house. Gah! Off to go write! {{hugs}} Thanks!

I don't know, I think I'd totally buy that it won't kill an Immortal -- because they're not evil. The inscription on the gun, the pentagram, etc. might not apply to them.

On the other hand, I'd also buy that it will kill them, because of the Holy Ground thing.

My issue with John shooting Methos is, limited number of bullets, wouldn't waste them on the ROG. :D

::amused::: Yes, but has anyone *tried* other bullets in the gun? Oh, look, it's a D&D enchanted weapon, doing extra damage/hitting the otherwise unhittable. ::whistles, strolls casually away rather than run from the nice guys offering the long-sleeve white coat...::

(And hey, it might killed St. Cloud or Kalas?)
