Oh, man, I love that episode! Not only for Joe, who is as classy as you say, but because Duncan is so gleefull in his killing of that punk Johnny Whashisname. And it's like Duncan meets Home Alone. Bwah!

::giggling:: Oh, yeah. Love, love, *love* Duncan telling him, 'If you won't play by the rules, then we're going to play a different game.' And then *plastering* Johnny K's face on buses, billboards, telephone poles.... Great episode!

*Totally* joining you in the Joe-love here. Whatta guy. (*loves*) (And I do actually have a Joe story in the works; it's just being ... slow, is all. Someday, dammit!)

And major kudos to Jim Byrnes who never flinched when the writers addressed the loss of Joe Dawson's legs. It's one thing to just ignore it; it takes a lot of courage on the actor's part to incorporate something that painful and personal into a character. Jim did it without ever letting Joe seem pitiful or undignified. Truly a class act.

::nodding:: He did a *superb* job of addressing it, including the very realistic 'because I don't want to tell her!' Man. *Both* class acts.

He did it with the character he played in "Wiseguy" as well. I think he was the first guy they showed without legs on a network show. He was filmed putting on his prostheses and jeans and my mouth just hung open with how damned cool the man was. Is.
